Good evening,
I send this update from Lake Union Drydock where the work on the GUEMES is coming along; however, we did run in to some issues re-installing the outdrives. Specifically, the mounting brackets had to be cut from the hull, re-machined and re-welded for proper alignment and additional work was required on the thrust collars. There was also a crack that was found in one of the struts that had to be welded. Additionally, the transmission was delayed returning from the shop where it was overhauled. Basically, everything we were worried could go wrong did go wrong. Unfortunately, these issues and the associated repairs impacted the schedule for coming off of the dry dock. The GUEMES is back in the water; however, right now, we are about a day behind where we would like to be. The vessel was scheduled for dock and sea trials today; however, that has been pushed out to tomorrow. I will send another update with more information tomorrow after dock and sea trials are complete. Right now, it looks like the GUEMES may be a day behind schedule.
